Aggy Bingos Parky to Win Close Match, NPT is Brutalized By Chris And It Was Sad

The matches of Saturday, 10/12 weren't overly competitive, but did make for some great entertainment.  First up was a convincing Chris victory over rival NPT, paced by a key NPT to Dryleaf Dane that would have won him a critical backhand blade square.

Chris has been very focused on optimal strategy.  By bringing his weapon along quickly, he was able to smash Dryleaf Dane before NPT recovered from an out of character incident with this mercurial NPC.

Chris did not let up after that, and the match's turning point occurred when both players were simultaneously moving towards Gaius/Golden Braid.  NPT grabbed the Golden Braid, but then didn't seem to realize had to pivot to Gaius while Chris fought Tree Sentinel duo, quickly frosting and bleeding out the pair.  Chris' lead became insurmountable.

The match between Aggy and his girlfriend Parky was a professional, close encounter that boiled down to the fact that Aggy knew Parky could not do Ancient Dragon Sennesax or Death Rite Bird, and he used those squares to get a quick bingo.  Had Aggy been blocked, the match would have likely been a lot closer, as the two read each other's moves well in the short afternoon match.

Vswed and Adef are fighting out a close one now.

NPT Bingos Aggy, Parkenharbor Can't Keep Up With Star0Chris in the First Day of Week Two Season Four Bingo Brawlers

Elden Ring/Souls streamer LilAggy had everything rolling his way in his match against NuclearPastaTom on Friday evening.  He had secured early key objectives like two unique Curseblades and Golden Hippo, and beat his opponent to Gaius' pants and the Golden Braid.

But then NPT did something unexpected -- he focused most of his energies on a row one bingo that featured two longer squares Aggy could not knock out quickly -- 6 DLC incants and the Gravebird Armor Set -- and Aggy could not distract NPT from that bingo as hard as he tried, losing 9-8 in an abbreviated but still thrilling matchup featuring two players operating at the top of their talents.

NPT looked lost early on, bungling a transition out of Fort Reprimand and seeming unsure of his objectives.  When Aggy second tried the Golden Hippo, NPT's move to kill two other hippos for that square seemed odd, but Aggy should have seen that Tom was attacking a dangerous line.   Instead, he focused on picking up squares that would have been otherwise important, but were inconsequential in the loss.

In the day's other matchup, Parky (who would follow up this loss with a Starfire cosplay playthrough of Resident Evil 2 for some reason) couldn't get her own confidence going as she fell to star0chris.  Chris was relentless, showing that despite his Week 1 loss to Aggy, he is most likely the definitive force to be reckoned with.  A snipe of three great shields set Parky spinning on tilt, and after that it felt like she wasn't in the match.  Chris and Parky both move to 1-1 on the season.

UPDATE: Quick picks for Saturday: Aggy over his GF, Chris over NPT

Bingo Brawlers Week Two News and Notes

- On the eve of what should be an exciting second week of Bingo Brawlers, here's the weekend schedule:

Parky v. Chris 3:00 PM ET 10/11

Aggy v. NPT 5:15 PM ET 10/11

Chris v. NPT 1:00 PM ET 10/12

Aggy v. Parky 3:15 PM ET 10/12

Rising Star Adef v. Vswed 5:30 PM ET 10/12

CBD v. Rising Star Adef 1:00 PM 10/13

Aggy v. Blanxz 3:15 PM 10/13

- We mentioned the best two of three falls match between Positive Vibes (Adef & Chris) and Parkenaggy (Parky & Aggy).  You can watch that here.

- Former bingo player (and maybe again one day) Blueberry Brioche is streaming Silent Hill 2 on her twitch channel today.

- Adef promised to debut a new skip during this weekend's matches.  He said that if he doesn't use it, he will make a YouTube video showing everyone the skip, which he says saves a lot of time.

Only a few players aren't doing the Ancient Dragon Man skip, which involves leaping from a great height into a pretty narrow window that allows you to access the ADM boss room from close to the opening grace in the dungeon.

- The biggest upset this season so far was Blanxz' upset of Bushy on the opening weekend slate, but we may have another in the final match on Saturday, 10/12.  While Rising Star Adef has shown he is formidable and the clear favorite, watch out for vswed.  This streamer has been practicing a ton and has showed remarkable improvement in practice matches against CBD and NPT.  We will pick the Saturday slate tomorrow morning (check back in then), but rising star Adef must know he has a battle on his hands.

Bingo Brawlers Season Four Picks: ERBW sees Chris and NPT as the Big Winners for 10/11

Last week, this space went 3-0 in predicting the results of Sunday's matches.  Will we remain undefeated?  Two good matchups today!

Parkenharbor v. star0Chris
: Have you ever gone one-on-one with your best friend's GF?  During the 2 of 3 practice match series held on the evening of 10/10, Parkenharbor teamed up with boyfriend Aggy for awkward squabbling/pure love as they lost to Positive Vibes (rising star adef and Star0Chris) in a best two out of three matchup.  Parky's for-real match up against Chris is probably similarly likely to end in a loss, but her play has insanely improved in a short period, as she proved in completing several painful objectives during that best of three.  Chris desperately needs a win here, though, and we expect him to come through in a close match.  Pick: Chris

Aggy v. NPT: Will a week of playing Silent Hill 2 curb the momentum Aggy has had in his so far undefeated season?  (He's 1-0.)  This 5:15 pm ET match is the main event of Friday's festivities for a good reason.  If Aggy and NPT aren't the two best Elden Ring players in the world, they are certainly both in the top ten.  Again, NPT desperately needs this win not to start off 0-2 and he's typically gotten the best of Aggy in one-on-one matchups due to NPT's excellent reads of Aggy's thinking.  Pick: NPT

Disappointing Bingo Day Three Highlighted By Blanxz Upset of Bushy via Top Row Bingo

After a disappointing opening round loss to rising star Adef, Blanxz proved he will be a serious competitor this season by handing Bushy his first loss after Bushy's league leading 2-0 start to Season Four.

Blankxz, pictured here with CBD to his right, set up a bingo and then sat on the final square, understanding Bushy had advantage on a critical Painting Rewards square.  But eventually Bushy sat on that advantage too long, and Blanxz got his first victory, paced by near hitless kills of Messmer and Gaius (to get his pants from his wife).

Bushy seemed overtired by the long day and failed to execute near the end with a key death to Chief Bloodfiend.

The rest of Day Three was marred by technical problems and uneven matchups.  The planned color commentator for the first match never appeared, and the first match with vswed repeatedly falling into Church District water, barely able to complete a square, was almost unwatchable.

Although the matchup between CBD and GrandPooBear was no more competitive, the caliber of play for both was above the previous match.  CBD easily put down GrandPooBear to go to 2-0.

Elden Ring Bingo Weekly Season Four Day Three Preview

Today's matches:

Vswed v. Bushy, 1:00 p.m. ET: Bushy is now one of the clear favorites and vswed has yet to find his groove in Bingo competition.  I expect a close match with Bushy outdistancing vswed in the late game.  Pick: Bushy

GrandPooBear v. itzCBD, 3:15 p.m. ET: The second matchup today is unlikely to be the most one-sided matchup of the season, but it might be close.  GrandPooBear could struggle to get a single win in Season Four.  Pick: CBD

Blanxz v. Bushy, 5:30 p.m. ET: Bushy is back for a second match of the day, as he is not available next weekend and had to double up today.  Blanxz really needs this one after his Scadutree Avatar incident on 10/5.  Don't look now, but I'm picking the upset.  Pick: Blanxz

Bingo Veteran itzCBD Bingos Newcomer Vswed in Shortest Week One Bingo Brawlers Season Four Match

ItzCBD ("CBD") scored a convincing Week One bingo victory in his Saturday opening match against late-add vswed.

In practice matches, vswed was consistently losing against NPT, Aggy, and CBD, and the real thing was no different.  Vswed has stellar execution and a good understanding of strategy, but is overmatched against some objectives.

CBD, who also hosts This Week in Bingo on his twitch stream after the day's matches, looked formidable.  His background in Elden Ring is as a no-hit runner, and where he showed indecisiveness in his Season Three teamup with LilAggy, none of that was present here.

An efficient kill of Golden Hippo and an early visit to Fort Reprimand set a difficult pace for vswed to follow.  Adding to CBD's advantage was a strategy of taking quick early squares that vswed usually relies on to stay close in the first hour of a game.

CBD is likely to soar to 2-0 and first place in the standings after he faces GrandPooBear today.
